Great shot of a great looking bird. I was in Saguaro National Park in southern Arizona over the three day weekend and saw a few of these but they never stayed in one place long enough for a shot like this. I imagine the fact that it was cold and snowing helped. Did you actually get this close to him with your 400, or is this a crop? Doesn't matter either way as it is a wonderful shot. I was just curious as you really need to be very close to fill the frame like this with a 400.

Just beautiful.. I must admit to spending much of my day today trying to get just this shot.. my results aren't anywhere close to yours.. Congrats! I plan to try again tomorrow.
