The light on this is pretty harsh making it contrast-y and the whole image seems busy. I am guessing that your intent is to highlight the open fruit on the hedge, but it's lost in the hot spots and scattered lines. I would recommend perhaps putting a tee shirt or something dark deep in the hedge to block the spot of white and brown and then getting in really close to isolate the spent pod from the clutter. When you were passing this by and it caught your eye, your brain isolated it for you automatically, but the camera unfortunately doesn't have that capability, so you have to help it along a little.
Another suggestion would be to photograph this sort of thing at a different time of day so the light isn't so hard.
I would also recommend uploading larger images if possible.
