I showed this to my cousin who is an accomplished artist and he walked me through these changes. It's truer to what you did with a half degree rotation and light cropping all around. contrast and level adjustments too.

you're so right. that was what I did before posting it..and obviosuly way before I found the feeling of a perfect composition. It's always bugged me that this was not straight, and I felt that I had to post it prove I wasn't perfect! ;)

I think you were trying to frame the square containing the hands. If you turned it a degree and cropped the right side to match the left, you'd have something good too.

Jim, this is funny, cause when I just started using my 20D, I took this image, and had a crop very much like yours. My wife and I seemed (at the time) that the centered, not straight composition looked better... funny to look at this one again, and see how much better your crop is!

fun idea. composition is everything so i played with it. i adjusted the contrast some. i hope you don't mind me doing this. a goal of this site is to learn from others. the subject doesn't need to be centered. centering is fine if you are going for dead-on symmetry.
