yes, very nice Gayle! here is the link of another zen series...the photos are not mine except for the first - I invited other members to add their ideas of what a zen image would be. Hope you'll enjoy it, and thank you for your words on my last post :)) http://www.treklens.com/themes.php?thid=1493

Your feedback made it worthwhile for me to choose to post this into CC...i uploaded it before the new feature and it didn't receive much notice,so thought i would try this route...but only members checking specifically the CC images might come across this image since not in the regular recent uploads....i truly hope others will read your very articulate indepth comment so they can see how it is done!...blew me away, mister! and i thank you very much...it is one of my top 5 faves of all i have shot...hope to see you again,David regards, gayle

Gayle, this composition caught my eye, it is quite 'off the wall', apart from the obvious technical excellence, the shapes and forms I found exceedindgly evocative....waxing lyrical I may be but this shot has depth and meaning beyond....well done, I venture to suggest that photographers look at your picture and resist (with respect)the temptation to take random images of things because they can, rather to explore the opportunity to create some atmosphere and feeling through photographic means....love this. cheers, david.

Well when you're sitting back, in your rose pink Caddilac - Makin' bets on Detroit Superbowl day. I'll be in my basement room, with a ( ) and a spoon. And another girl to take my pain away......Well you can send me dead flowers every morning, send me dead flowers by the mail, send me dead flowers to my weddin', and I won't forget to put roses on your grave ("Dead Flowers" - Jagger/Richards) Brilliant shot, made me think of this

This should be getting bombarded! Gayle, this is a gorgeous example of how to use DOF effectively. The grain adds a nice touch in B/W, and the way that the flower floats in from the RH side, and is focused, against an unfocused element in the background, is brilliant! The composition is without air, without sunlight, without wind, without sound.... and yet manages to stand on its own, on the merits of beauty. FAVORITES.... ..Brad

Will come back to this one Gayle. I like it but am consulting my thesaurus to come up with Zen-worthy words of wisdom appropriate for this image.
Cheers - Ann :)
