Thanks again, Aram for your analysis, It was all there... I had nothing to do other than take the picture :) I'm very familiar with this bridge, I've been taking pictures there for five years, now and then, and I still find new angles and views. I read somewhere that those are the best pictures, when you know your subject well - the author was referring to pictures we take as tourists in unfamiliar places vs. the ones where we live. Somehow I think he was right. Take care, and thanks :) Best regards, Ina

Very nice abstract patterns. Also looks like a long queue of "extremely astonished" E.T. beams with their O-eyes and O-mouths!! There is a great contrast between the big number of round nail-heads that keep all this heavy world together and the big round hollows in between. Along with the fact that there are just two main shapes- straight vertival lines and circle-ellipses- makes this picture an excellent simple-abstract one. Thank you.

Thanks Endre, I'm honored to get into your favorites! I used manual focus on this one. I've photographed this bridge many times before, and the lighting was right at that time. Have a nice weekend, and thanks! Best regards, Ina

Thanks Andrzej, it's a favorite subject of mine (I think I said this before?) - why don't you post some of yours? It's always nice to see what another artist does with the same subject. Like Tew's Falls. Best regards, have a good trip to DC!

Ina, it's beautiful, the best shot of the bridge ever done. I don't have anything close to this expresion. Great compressed perspective and perfect play of vertical lines and bolts. Cheers, n.j

You got the angle here perfect for this type of rhytmical shots, which i love, by the way, dear Ina. (and actually it is hard to get the best angle, maybe just for me, though) So, to my favs. it goes. Endre

I haven't seen too many photographers around that bridge, mostly people fishing. Thanks for your email address, I won't abuse it. I guess you have to pay for the holga filter after the trial days, so I'll skip that. But the B & W is great. I'm installing it right now!

It's one of my favorite hangouts. If you are under it and hear the siren, it blows you away. There are 2 long piers next to it, large cargo ships go by (Lake Ontario). There is an old stone lighthouse from the 1850's (supposedly haunted), and the abandoned lighthouse keeper's house, right below it. Plus a great highway bridge parallel to it. All in one place. Across the gulf there are steel mills, and all are my favorite subjects. In winter, all sorts of ducks and geese, and loons.

It looks alive! Bridge builders often tell us that, and I believe it. Like ships and other large things man creates.
