Thank you Robin. I had to work hard for this one. It was breeze, camera hand held, focused in very close. The file took some work as the center of the flower was dim due to the back lighting. But, I do very much like Dogwoods, scalloped leaves and light.

This is one of my favorites, thanks for commenting. It was hard to obtain using a hand held macro, up close, on a breezy day. The processing was work also as the face of the flower was somewhat in shade. I like that it takes some looking at to appreciate.

Simply outstanding, Bob. The gentle use of limited color here, along with the well placed softened shadows presents the mind with a dremlike reality, that is both comforting and mysterious. This image has an oriental quality to it, very unique. Can't say I have seen anything so subtly eyecatching on UF. If this were mine it would be on my livingroom wall. Congratulations. Anson

Sorry I missed this one when it first saw 'daylight'... but it's never too late to tell you how much I like, correct, love it!!! It's a gorgeous, creative and even a bit mysterious floral, fabulous tones/colors, fantastic DOF and details, excellent composition and excecution... well done!! Oh and about your lack of technical skills, if you can post process... just hit the resize button and go (way) over 100% when it has only 300x400 pixels (about 800 looks more than twice as good... LOL)!!

Thanks, once again. It's good to have the opinions from someone with an excellent portfolio. Making a processing this image, I was trying to isolated the subject the make the image quieter and calmer. There was a lot of luch involved. It's hand held at macro distrance outdoors in a spring breeze.

interesting work; you seem to bend the rules very successfully, actually creating a tableau with out of focus surrounding in such a way, that the photo lives by it.
stimulating work, and imaginative. j.

Thank you for noticing my small work here. It's one of my favorites from this spring. I took great care during capture and post processing.
I stood with the sun at my back, shading the flower but not the out of focus ground beneath it. During post processing, I puffed in a little light to give the flower a more quietly insistent presence.

Mitra, thank you. I'm always hearing about my small images. I lack the technical skills to get it done correctly, eventhough kindly people have tried to help. Perhaps I will take a class.

It is very interesting and eye catching. However, it would have been awesome if it were larger in size. Great photo. It looks like a painting.
