Very interesting capture I like the tones special the blue-purple on the left. I think if the shorter trencher was on the edge of you frame will visually make great flow. Despite this I like the originality. Harry

Bob this is Kohen Dry Lakebed (not sure of the spelling). It's north/east of Claifornia City. People go out there to play with their ATV's so sometimes I've found vehicle tracks there too. Here's one with such tracks (the large figure 8)on the same lake bed.
Cheers - Ann :)

Ann, this is an incredible image. What part of the Mojave was it in? I've seen plenty of dry lake beds, but never from an arial like this. Incredible to see... even from a long time desert rat, like myself.
Best regards, Bob

You're right -- this is an amazing example of natural art. The lighting gives it an ethereal atmosphere and creates the shadows that provide texture to the picture. Very magical.

Thank you Kathy, I couldn't believe it! :) At this rate I won't be able to get my fat ego through the door. :) I'm just giving my honest opinion while trying not to be discouraging when I critique. I want to keep the encouragement going.
Thank you also to Gayle for your kind comments.
Cheers - Ann :)

Dear Ann, this is a great image! like many people before me, from the thumbnail I thought it was a plant of some sort! It is a unique shot, not one that many of us can easily take or create.. What a chance! Best regrads from Gabriela

Wow! I love this. It's great as an abstract and obviously very reminiscent of a tree branch. Yet another aspect of this shot is that as the ground color changes to the top right, it almost looks like sky/clouds. Great interest in this shot!

Hi Ann, nice to meet you :) Fantastic shapes looking like a tree, but also like some veins on a human body - it's all part of nature. I love this image, I have never seen anything like it. (making note: should re-visit Mojave) - Great image! Ina

What a great shot Ann! You are definitely right, this creates a strange illusion to the eye. Before I opened the thumbnail I thought it was some kind of plant. I'm glad that you gave such a detailed "about." Really adds to what is being seen. Thanks for your recent comment! Much appreciated! And welcome to Usefilm! Kathy

Thank you all for your kind words.
mundh if you go out to the Mojave Desert in California, beg, borrow or steal a ride in a small plane to fly over a couple of the many dry lake beds and you should see them. Just ask the local pilots where they are. This one is over a mile in length. Hope you get to see one.

Mmmm...love the graphic composition and the natural soft sepia-like tones. That's what I loved on the desert, the formations. Now you're making me long for another trip out there.

Thank you Cary. One at a time. :)
I wish I could afford to hire you as my valet to carry my camera bag (and don't forget the tripod). Good one. :)
I'm not a great photographer or anything. Just a keen hobbyist (and nomadic gypsy) but I am lucky enough to go to great locations around the world to shoot OK photos. My cameras have done all the work. They are my carry-on luggage wherever I go.
For every fair shot I have hundreds of failures. Thank goodness for digital cause I couldn't afford the film or developing these days. :)
