Yes, the Z1 gives me fabulous DOF when I use the low f settings. The only problem I have with this camera is that I want a stronger macro and zoom (latter with better quality) but unfortunately it seems that there are nothing other than the wide angle lens accessory for this camera. Such a shame, because it is really is a great digital.

I like the background; how the lines radiate or streak behind the lily. Try using the smudge function in PS to streak the detail on the lower right and left as well. This is a fairly common but always spectacular flower even here in California. I had no idea what it was called until now.

this is a great flower portrait of an Iris as we call it here. The lens in your Minolta camera is certainly of outstanding quality. At an aperture of f:2,8 or f:3,5 it is super as far as DOF goes.
Great photographic work.

They are neat flowers aren't they? Only bloom for a couple of days, but at least they bloom several times a year.
