This is stunning! this is beautyful- all these tengled cut trees and ones standing there i see life and death in a great contrast. And the wrapping fog gives some sort of mystical, and melancholy feeling with all the quiteness around. regards, V.

The best element to me is the strong contrast in exposure from the richly exposed foreground of weaving tree trunks and leaves, to the misty and mysterious live trees which extend to infinity out of the top of the frame. Also the slight perspective which gives the trees a subtle sense of height is well done.
Personally I have found wooded forest shots to be some of the hardest to compose w/ interesting elements throughout, without being overly repetitive, except under special circumstances like these.

Nice gaussian Blur on the sky but I think it should have gradiated to the foreground a bit more to realism...I agree with the awards, it is a genious shot!

oh, Sabastian, stunning work!! i was just talking to a friend about the great work coming out of Poland and here's a wonderful example. you're so low it seems you're a woodchuck poking your nose out of your burrow to see if it's safe to come out..great. i love every single thing about this image..congrats on editor's choice! Highly deserving..kat~
