I don't mind the vast expanse of the road. Looking at the cropped version, the road ironically becomes more dominant when there is less of it, drawing my eye to the right side of the frame (where there's not much besides the road). In this full image, my attention is immediately attracted to the green area in the top left, and the road provides nice framing for those fields. I also think that the view in this version is not only more natural, but the road is somehow also more inviting.

My eye is attracted by the winding road on the left and the hazy landscape. But, on the right, though the road opens another vanishing point, it seems to me that it occupies a part too wide. A crop of the bottom is possible.
