Jay, Again you've used your unerring instincts and created an image full of questions. The first one in my brain was "What has happened here?". That's what I love about your work; it has me, and others, asking questions. Isn't that what the best of art is all about, creating discussion and debate? Many of your images, this one included, are dark. I love looking at them and posing questions that we often don't like asking because the answers may be too much for us to bear. You're not afraid of the questions and that's what drives energy to the work and makes it powerful. Keep asking.
The red streak-blood?-has you mesmerized, you appear to be staring at it in disbelief, a nose bleed perhaps, the splatters and smaller streak are near there, is it on the other side from something you have just witnessed? You seem to be backing away from it. It certainly is interesting and leaves you thinking.
