Thanks, Adam, for your thoughts/tips on my photos. Once in awhile I try to do something moody looking and this was one of those attempts. On my screen it does look dark, but not particularly muddy. In the original photo, the girl in the background wasn't nearly so dark but for me this version is appealing. I don't use a mac but any other pointers you throw my way are appreciated! Thanks again. It's so beautiful when you can capture expressions of children as they look out windows -- and you do a great job of it.
Again, a little too dark and muddy for my taste. Are you using a Mac? If so, and you don't mean for the photos to look so dark, let me know and I'll give you some tips -- I went through all that a few months ago. They probably look fine on your screen.

an amazingly beautiful shot. very touching. the oldest sisterly love is shining through even though you can't see her that well. it's the silouette of love.

I like that Katie is in the background, protecting her baby sister. Very sweet and nurturing. I love it.

I am loving the light / dark thing... If her eye either appeared opened or closed (obviously) then it would make more sense... i think her closed eye needs to be a bit more "pronounced" to see the natural arch of the eye lid and lashes. Did that make sense?

What a beautiful image! The composition and light are great. My only real criticism is that the detail in the dark areas of the sister's face are lost. If you shot in RAW they may be easy to recover and dodge in.

I love the lighting here and how big sis is almost a silhouette....I also love the feeling of security and peace. Nice!
