P.S. That "Afghan Girl" that is on the 'Front Cover' of his book I mentioned and which originally appeared in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC in the June 1985 Issue just really put him 'Over the Top' didn't it?

3. As for Nick ... Well he is a 'Scientific Genius' in his own mind so I don't really care about him reading my comments!:))
4. And this is the 'BIG ONE': How interesting that you personally have been acquainted with THE Mr. Steve McCurry, (Born February 24th, 1950 - Author of the book titled "PORTRAITS" published by PHAIDON Printed in Hong Kong First Published in 1999), but he is based in New York and does give weekend workshops there which is where you live so I believe all of it!
5. Next and final: I have just put up an image titled "GOING HOME" which you may want to take a look at especially because it is 'Dedicated' to you ...

So... I would say, just stay on that and get some more of it, Avi! It will surely evolve into something very distict! I can't say what the results will be like but exactly this is the very fun of it. To sit and wait for your next steps!

Well, being a fan of HCB, I am very attracted to the use of lines and shapes in compositions. That, plus my recent meetings with Steve McCurry has drawn me towards color :)

Boring? Well, if this is your "boring" day then I wish myself many many such boring days for you, Avi, on which I am presented such great shots!
The vivid colors and the good details are already a delight but the great delight on this one (for me) is the exposure balance in such a composition! It generated a spotlight-like enhancement, including the overexposed parts of the feet, and still kept such a good sense for the anaglyph of the subject. They are not feet to look but rather to touch here! Even )or in this case exactly because) of those regions of overexposure. It isn them that allow me to know about their 3D-shape.
The good contrast and tension between the aömost complementary colors of the water and the leggings add the finishing touch of such a "suddenly cut" composition as on many of your other works.
You seem to develop a special sympathy for such images, don't you?

First and foremost, thank you very much for your detailed critique ! I hope you appreciate the fact that a critique sometimes can be the starting point of a fine discussion, where the photographer/another critic can present some different points of view which may/may not be acceptabable to the original critic.. but that's fine too, because art is subjective. this is what I love in photography, there is no 2+2 which always can have one and only one answer ! .. bottomline, ami bolte chaichhi je ami tomar pointgulo-r poriprekkhite amar torof thekeo kichhu kotha bolbo, I hope you are ok with that:
i) I kind of agree with you. in fact amar nijero ager chhobi-tai better legechhilo, tai otai age diyechhilam. eta diye ami aro motamot shunte chaichhilam, ja ami peyechhi.
ii) well, as one of my very good friends taught me, in compositions, usually odd numbers work; so in that respect, I agree with you here too.
ii) nah, naam-er sathe color er kono link nei. naam ta bhabchhi katiyei debo.
