About took a shot of myself by putting the D300 on a rock and stumbling into the photo area before the audible click...trying to look "cool" and composed...It was a tad Chilly up there during the day with a bit of snow coming every once in a while. The Yellow trees in the distance are Larchs which turn brilliant yellow before the needles fall of to the ground for the winter.

Tim your lights and colors are always fantastic!
Your're able to create a great capture even with a "simple" self-click ;-)

Well, I am glad to hear that it didn't burn up all around Floe lake (though I guess the forests are a little more sparse up there!) I just remember seeing a huge burned out area and wondering what it was like up there now. Cheers, Gary

Actually, I have the D300 set on Vivid setting, so really, I have to desaturate most images somewhat. As to how much, depends on what monitor/video card setting that you have going on. That sure is one problem with images on the net....the lack of visual consistency. Anyway you know how I like color no matter what....lol.

Hi Gary,
Yes we walked through the burn area which was pretty much most of the way except the last 1km. the images from that walk in the burned area were quite beautiful filled with fireweed and all sorts of reddish plants from the fall coloring.

Hi, Tim. Great scenery, and nice to see your face... even if it is pink with exertion (or is that the result of a heavy hand with the saturation slider?) BTW, I now have a D300 and am finding it a great improvement over the D200!

Nice to see you, Tim! Well done self portrait, with a great scenic background. A very nice group of shots, sorry I don't have time to comment on all of them, I'm just back from some time off and trying to catch up!
Dave.

Hey Tim... you do look pretty "cool" . Wow, I was up there once upon a time. Looks like it was missed by that big fire that was in the area a couple years ago. How was the hike into it? Cheers, Gary
