Thank you for the critique Nick. I realized the light was tough but I didn't want to miss the chance of capturing her so no chance to change settings or open the window :(. She is pretty fast, the second after I released the shutter she was gone.

A bad thing it was to not allow her to drink, Julie! In vino veritas for Yuccas too! ;-)
The sharpness, especially on the main subject, isn't as low by itself, but rather in combination with the low light and the associated lack of contrast. And as the composition contains also many things out of focus the visual separation of the bird from its surroundings is too low. Perhaps an even wider aperture could help, though I'd rather doubt it since it must have been already wide (already very shallow DoF). So, why not opening the window and allowing some more light to come in? I think that she would return to the glass be it high or low light condition. ;-)
As about composition, it's hard to say. A good thing to show also the bottle of wine, as it does add some humorous moment. But under these conditions it doesn't really work.
