thanks a lot for your kind comment...I was lucky to have the same colors between these three elements, fence, bike and truck, all in yellow and rust so it was a good way to bring them 'closer' to the watcher using the desaturation at everything else...

Congrats on the Staff Choice for this one John.
It is a very strong composition. I think the selective desaturation works very well in this case because of the rust and yellow being so consistant. Lucky that the truck and bike were very similar colours. Skillful of you to notice that when creating the image.

Thanks for the sugesstion, John. I don't have Core Photo Paint. The main one I have is Photoshop 7. In any case, I don't have much time lately to experiment with pictures. Someplace, I have a PS manual, but just have not had time to read through it and try things out.

It's easier....much easier than Photoshop, masks works better, ok, needs some time and I don't use auto masks, but the result is pretty good and the job...just I use zoom on the photo and paint mask tool...and that's all...

Your selective colouring makes the main objects really stand out. You are very good with your program changing the sky. I have tried that a couple of times nut, as yet have not been satisfied with the results. I'll keep at it when I have time. This is a very creative and dramatic image. I think a lot of people oule have just passed by this scene and not seen the photo opportunity that it presented. I'm glad you did.
