Beverly, Whom did you have to feed more to stay in the pic, the birds or your son? hehehehe Fantastic composition / lighting / scenery. Very nicely done.

This shows competency with your equipment and a fine eye for classical composition. Having your flock of trained birds fly over is a finishing touch!

Another beautiful shot, Beverly! A gentle transition to day softened by the low clouds - less flashy than some sunrises, but subtlety is always so much more complex. I like the way all the elements come together, and the eye is guided toward the sun by direction of the waves, your son's gaze and by that wonderful 'V' of the birds. Excellent!

Thank you for your comment Augusto. You cannot rate my images because I prefer not to have them rated. I view this site as a critique/learning site, not a ratings contest. I appreciate your kind words though. :-)

Composition, colors, depth...all work to tell a story. This seems quiet and contemplative, and illustrates your title beautifully.

You've captured some beautiful colors here, soft grays and teals and the coral/orange accents give this photo a very calm feel, softer than the usual sunrise. The figure is well placed in the composition. The detail in the figure is nice too, it could have ended up as a silhouette, which would have been ok, but the shadow detail takes the emphasis off the sunset and places it on the figure. This is a beautiful, peaceful place (what draws one to the sea -- the sounds, the magnetic pull?) and I sense from this image that it could easily help make every day seem like a new one.

A very lovely composition with your son in silouette. Beautiful and serene. I love the birds flying in formation above the rising sun. Excellent composition. Bravo!!
