I am yet to see how I go with taking macro photos and admire when someone does it really well. The focus on teh Dragonfly's body is precise...excellent photo. By the time I get the camera out, trial a few photos, get organised, the little guys are just as dead as the rose bush!

Nice Kenneth. Excellent composition and DOF. Personally, I think it could have been a stronger image if it were lighted better but you only have the light mother nature provided and we all have to work with what we have. Your focus is sharp enough to show off the lacy and intricate patterns in the wings but the DOF is so narrow, the entire wing's not in focus . . . and the abdomen extends out of the focal plane too. The narrow DOF, however, centers appropriately on the head and thorax where the central wing conections are and that's very good. Since this is CC . . . my thoughts are: a slightly deeper DOF and slight increase in saturation (especially blue). Possibly an external light source, like a flash ring . . . Regardless of the nitpicking . . . This is a really great shot Kenneth . . . congratulations.
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~

I forgot I have another good one you will like, but when I left the ranch and came back to New Orleans I left it on my computer there. I will have to get it on Friday night when I go back.

Whoa! Great capture Kenny! Very good detail on the body and wings! So how did you walk up to this guy without scaring him off?

Great capture of him, Kenneth! I like the diagonal composition, and the space in front of him. Excellent focus and detail, too. We're starting to see more and more of them here now. Dave.
