You have realy nice portfolio, full of delicate & emotive captures.
also yor controlling on the avaiable light is admired.
very nice Home shot that can put in the Home project.
the exposure is soft all arround the work, also it's nice to use reflections of the dress for give it brilliant contrast and various tone.
nice & simplicity. you could transfer the beauty and lovely feeling via this image.

Doyle, thank you so much for your critique. I very much appreciate it. The lighting here was difficult to master. It is light from the window only, with a little ambient glow from the room, but not much. I really liked the satin dress and the way it relected the light and really worked to position her in such a way that it did not distract from the rest of the image. the text is simply my web watermark and of course in the finished printed version, won't be there. thank you again for taking the time to look & respond

Phil:
I think you have a really good image here. The composition is quite nicely approached using the diagonal (bottom left to upper right) streak of lighting which ends in a dark block at the upper right corner. The window sill does something to save this by placing a lighted (almost too light) triangular image which intersects this shaft of light.
The silk or satin dress does not strike me as necessarily bad . . . in fact I like it for the unique interplay of light and shadow it brings into play. It does not distract me from the beautiful model who has the light from the window accenting her face. The colors and skin tones, while difficult to do under these lighting conditions have been remarkably well done and the stone textures of the wall behind her conveyed quite nicely. The pose and expression are natural. The most distracting thing in this image (in my opinion) is the line of white text in the lower right edge of the photo. It seems to float in a sea of black and the presence there draws the eye to it and away from the model more than anything else. A very impressive shot my friend.

Doyle I <-----

Great composition and work with light. You've have created a good contrast. you create a sort of feeling a last glance or despair. And with the feeling i'm guessing you're going for the lower part of the girls dress looks to metallic. ( I don't know if this is because of lighting or the dress itself)It takes to much attention from the great top half of the photo. Regards, Martijn
