Reminds me of that John Lennon/Beatles song "Duckie in the Pond with Purple" (or is it Lucy?) I actually dig this one alot. You could do an Andy Warhol thing and repeat them 8 times with different color schemes on each one. Very Pop art, GREAT JOB !! (OK it's blue but I see Purple creeping in...)

I love the purple/blue hue of the water that is picked up by the duck's feathers. If the feathers were to have been left 'natural', the white would have been too brilliant. This gives a perfect 'photo-art' look and is not only in keeping with the soft satiny appearance of the water, but also 'The Blue Period'. It is gentle, calming. Lovely work Gayle.

hi, all i did was go to color balance and played with what is called B/W pts. (but gives color combos and some singular hues),and then i cleaned some noise out of the water...i thought color choice gave overall image a moonlit look, but was going for a bolder look...duck was moving smoothly but semi quickly,so i panned to get this shot...focus is as is and no sharpening added

Well the purple certainly puts a different twist on this ducky Gayle. You got a really good focus and lighting in his beady little eyes. That is harder than it would appear with a duck. I think it's supposed to rain next weeek so we'll all feel like ducks again.... Susie

Nice blue period Gayle. So glad it wasn't pink cause I hate pastels and I think a pink duck would look awful. LOL I like the tiny spot of light in his eye and I love the water. Nice work.
Thank you again for visiting my Farewell image Gayle. I will see your work when I return again in a few months....maybe even sooner.
Cheers for now - Ann :)

Glad you don't mind my critiques. Very funny that we were on the same wavelength with submissions tonight. I try to be open minded with the photoart element. My first impression was that this was mostly a hue change. Were there other modifications made. I want to give credit where there is credit due.

yeah,i could have desat them more, but details were lost,so figured it fit in with my photoart choice.....i know it is hard to get away from "realistic" perceptions and get into "arty",but i leave the Audubon level to Darlene and others..LOL..i appreciate your honesty,tho',Jim..... want to hear something kinda strange?...a few hours earlier you came into my mind about how i like your critiques, and next thing i know i am posting wildlife fowl images!..LOL..have always been very intuitive, but this was different

Perhaps this might be a bit stronger if the hue change was just made to the water? Purplish feathers look a little too unnatural to me. Cool idea though.
