Gabriella: The green leaves growing on the limbs of the live oak, and there is only one tree being seen here, are that of the plant called the Resurrection Fern. It lives on the nutrients in the air and places roots around the bark of the tree, not harming the live oak in any way. They turn green during rain as here. Thanks for such a nice comment and the favourite rating. Anson

Beautiful and unusual capture! The tree (or trees) is covered with some parasite or is this the original condition? It looks like the leaves are coming directly from the trunk. The blurry moss is of great effect, like the veils of a widow. The atmosphere is that of invasion and the poor azalea can hardly be saved. Very strong image! I like it and will make it a favourite. Laura: That moss is everywhere in Georgia, and the wind was blowing which made it blur. Moss is supposed to blur in the wind, I think! Love your sepia shot of the plant. You have an excellent portfolio and certainly one of the more colorful I have seen. Anson

Gary: Thanks for the nice words Gary. I had to walk a great distance to find these abandoned azaleas to include in the picture; I can't imagine excluding them! Most find they add a counterpoise of different color. I like them. Anson

Hi Anson,
I really like this shot. The composition is unique, the greens are rich, and I like the way the moss is in soft focus. This last element especially lends extra interest to the shot.

Great shot. Love the ferns and moss hanging off those branches. Personally, I actually would focus just on the branches/moss and crop off the bottom. Either way, it's well done. Cheers, Gary
