hi jason, there is not a lot to give a CC on this shot,it has an impressive depth and perspective to it.the black and white enhances very nicely.if anything perhaps not using such a square dimension on the final cut.try a 800 x 550 dimension.overall its a great photo which also might suit the panoramic dimensions. good stuff.brian

doyle i said many a time before you still need composition, focus, good exposure to build upon ,i often take shots like the one above knowing full when i get home i can put it into a perspective i was imagining when i took.its the ability to think ahead .as for thomas's comment if it was constructive ill listen and go away and practice the advice if its just blatant non constructive the likelyhood i will be blatant in return.its not about sticking up for yourself its about being constructive . whether we like it or not computers give us a lot of freedom to exercise or practice techniques not only in photography but in many other hobbies ,i.e. like HAM RADIO for years the skills were learnt in assembling radios with a sodering iron today we can buy a black box plug it into our USB port and talk to the world instantly anytime of the day. anyway i wont go on but you may see where im coming from. thanks brian...

thomas you talk crap ,you havent read any of the above comments or noticed a screencapture of the raw image above.think before you judge!!so tell me what element you think was put into this, before you answer all the elements are taken by me in this case there are two elements cloud shot and landscape shot.yes you are old fashioned but i know from my past knowledge of that post processing of 35mm film could be done albeit somewhat more time consuming.you wanted a response this is what you get when you critisise without a constructive point. sadly brian...

hello jacob,i like to look at surreal views ,for me a surreal or somewhat euphoric view makes me smile and thoughtfull.kind of wish i was there!!.so it probably explains why i look for surreal views or create them ,however photography skills and know how is the upmost eseential element without that you have no platform to work from .i see a lot of good clean photographs on usefilm that are perfect for there subject used but what i really look for is imagination and creativity in shots .jeanette hagg often portrays that technique in her own style .i guess thats what seperates them from normal approach.i could waffle on for hours. but i wont but to those who often complain in the forums about no awards think about the approach, use your imagination and it will reveal some creative skills in your work.brian

one thing to remember cathy is there is no substitute for composition, you still need to have a good eye and some imagination.people often comment on post processing but often showing a screenshot of the raw file often nails any debate with sceptics.i personally love the freedom of digital . i can remember owning an Nikon F90X back in 1997 and spending a fortune on film/developing just to get one shot .but the elements of technique for shooting photography is still the same . i always shoot in manual mode so that gives me complete control over the exposure and aperture ,often underexposing reveals great depth in cloud shots which often leads to the foreground being dark, therefore i take another shot at a better exposure from the same point and then layer them together. anyway thanks for the comment .brian

manu am i right in saying this the view at the roundabout 20/20(Carl Harbour Roundabout) as you exit the motorway ? if so heres a shot i took from that spot some time ago. anyway the shot has good industrial blend of colour, the cloud contrast is sharp and highlights the boldness in colour. great framing makes it a porto cabin hanger!!! brian

hi jeanette no flash took this about 3 weeks ago up on the hills near me ,it was a sunny cloudy day lots of light and fast exposure at small aperture F/29 @ 10mm focal. if anything it was underexposed to reveal the blue sky saturation.cu brian..
