Radek,
I love the composition, color and perspective of this shot, but I think it would be so much stronger if the boy was engaged with the camera. But, then again I like how the dreamy, wondering look plays well with the curve of the hallway.
All that being said, GREAT SHOT!!

This shot takes me back to a place in my childhood, thank you!
I really do like your perspective and the desaturated feel to it.

Megan,
Thank you!
I have been watching your work for a while, but I missed some of your recent posts.
I really like your "Balance" photograph, it speaks to me and takes me back to when I was boy. My hide out was behind a garage this shot reminds me of.

These things scare the hell out of me. I came accross one of these mountain biking around a lake in Northern California. It haunts me to this day to think what would happen to be sucked into one during a storm; how helpless you would feel.

Joel,
A great architectual shot you have captured. One element I love about this shot/building is the round bench on the lower level is just off to the left by about three feet, I wonder if Mr. Wright scripted this.

Joel,
Well, your paiting with light has inspired me to work harder. I will try this technique later this week and post over the weekend.
After viewing this image again it really does come across as a realistic painting, lovely.

Joel,
What a great series on the Marin Civic Center. I had driven past the building many times, but had never taken the time to enter it. Now I feel through your work I have seen what I have missed, thank you.
This one deserves an award, I'm sure it will come soon.

Joel,
Thank you for the nice comments. You are correct, I shot this with my 85mm f1.8 not the 17-55mm as I had posted. Also, I did crop about an 1/8th of the left side to get this frame.

Joel,
I had to make this one of my favorites! It reminded me of Big Top Pee-wee and an amazing anxiety attack I had in the theater after staying out all night; thank for taking me back, brilliant.
Larkspur huh, I lived there for two years while working as an AD for an agengy in the city. Next time you are flying over Utah, give me a wafe and drop a bottle of wine.
I looke forward to seeing more from your "Market" series; is that the Larkspur Albertsons?
Thank you for your kind words for my work.

I say to Jim Joy, blah, blah, blah!! Your statement is the weakest statement possible, and lacks truth and clarity; it also speaks to lowest common denominator of people, exactly who Bush wants wallowing in and believing his BS.
My wife pointed out the other day that the Bush lemmings refer to their opponents as intellectual elitists; its nice they (Bushies) recognize that they themselves are not very bright.

Gorgous! I believe what you did with the sky really ads to this composition and allows to barn to pop and does not present us with yet another "Barn Shot"; well done.
On a side note about your comment "I realize that some might be put off by the color of the sky", you should not dimish your work with a comment like this, it tends to point viewers in a certain direction and dissalows frank comments. It reminds me of my wifes mother who will cook dinner, then state before serving that she thinks she did not do a good job; kind of starts the meal off wrong.

Marcus,
Thank you so much for your lighting information. I believe that had you used a reflector to bounce the light into the shadows, this portrait would be not as good as it is; for me it is perfect this way.
I do have two more questions, if you do not mind. When you refer to 80x80 softbox, is this in centimeters? Also, I have a question about the Canon, do you do any post production on your images or are these straight from the camera and cropped for the web? There is a certain consistancy to the skin tones in your images, I am hoping this is inherent to the Canon's, this would convince me to switch from Nikon.
Best regards, John

Beautiful composition, I cannot believe this image has not received more praise! The colors and framing create a great story.
I agree with Jacek, I see the Hopper like quality; Hopper is my favorite American painter.
I had been thinking about getting the 17-55mm Nikkor; seeing this image compelled me to purchase one this evening; B&H thanks you for my money. I only hope I can shoot as well as you.

Hello Christoper,
I also like this composition very much. I think ht light is great. The only part that bothers me is the fan in the background. The shot has such a 1920's scene, but the modern plastic fan intrudes.
Job well done.
