This is a color photo. The pebbly beach is the result of volcanic eruptions, so it is blackish. I will be posting more from Antarctica. Just you wait.

I love the graininess of the sky juxtaposed against the inky blackness of the silhouettes. The satallite dishes make me want to connect-the-dots. ;-)) The white dish in the foreground is a brilliant focal point that really balances the composition. This is one of my favorite photos that you've taken. Hope you've had a great summer! Lee Ann

Beautiful light, color, and textures. Last summer I visited Croatia. We took a ferry to the island across from Dubrovnik. This photo reminds me of how captivating the water was at the ferry landing. Thanks for the fantastic photo and the nice memory. Regards, Lee Ann

What an engaging photo! I love the muted colors--great mix of sepia and b/w. You've created the sense that Aaron is snowboarding on the moon (and if anyone could, it would be him).

Wonderful portrait, Onur. The Mona Lisa's smile has nothing on this lady baker's. The thought of the yummy country bread makes me hungry! Thanks for sharing your picture.

The changing perspectives in this panoramic shot are dizzying and quite compelling. I think the way you "gathered it all in" is visually appealing while portraying the immensity and confusion of super-huge mosques. I do wish you made your images just a bit smaller so I could see the whole thing without scrolling up and down.

Cirrus, stratus, and cumulus clouds all in one photo! When viewing the thumbnail, I thought "Bob Ross painting." Then I opened up the larger photo and realized that there would be no "happy little friends" from nature (aka squirrels and bunnies) in this landscape. I really like the undulating curves of the mountains and river. The clouds and tree in the foreground offset these nicely.

What an interesting weather pattern! It certainly is a curtain of rain--nice word image to enhance the visual image. The tree in the foreground is a neat juxtaposition that really anchors the photo.

I have tried and tried to take a decent photo of a market, any market, from Damascus to Istanbul to Marakech, without great results. This photo really conveys the flavor of Bab Shriejeh. The fabulous lighting hints at the Friday/holy-day-ness. Very nice.

This photo really captures the optimism and glee that I saw at the march. I love the row of girls holding hands. This is a side of Syria that is not normally seen in Western media. Love it!

I like how the scales of the dragon are super focused and the trees seem to melt into the mist as you go back in space. It really reminds me of Asian ink drawings--perfect for the Chiang Mai location.

I love the jagged rocks against the ripples of sand. I like the darkening of the sky as you get to the top of the photo, although the corners and top edge seem to have a slight vignetting affect that I know I'm being way too picky about. It is really an excellent photo. LA

We really have done a heap of traveling together, and it's been great fun! I had a hard time deciding whether to post this photo or one that is not blurry because I accidentally used flash (big oops in that venue). I decided that the blurriness better portrayed the feeling of flamenco than sterile crispness. I'm sad that the colors washed out a bit when I uploaded the photo.
Does anyone know why colors are sometimes less vibrant when photos are uploaded? Is there a way to get around that?

Thanks for the support. I have to admit, I like the "uphill" format more than the Photoshop enhanced level horizon. Wish I could say I did more than click the shutter. The colors and infinite sky were there.

I have to admit, I'm just not yet saavy enough about Photoshop to do that yet. If I were, I would have done so. At the same time, I do like the shadows, and resulting slight hint of expression.

When I painted more often, I firmly believed that the most interesting (human) subjects were not fashion model beauties, but people who obviously had histories. This photo reinforces that belief. The man's gaze and atmosphere feed the soul. I wish I could eat some of the yummy soup that the couple is making.

Super capture of Fares' "cat-ness." The square format really brings out the curve of the vine in a nice way. I also like the textures--fuzzy fur, spiky palm, grainy bark, soft pine needles. I hope Fares got some tuna as a treat for being such a good model!
