Thanks PJ for your critique, much appreciated. Point taken regarding the crop, but there were undesireable elements to the right (not that you would have known).................kind regards, Steve.

Lovely tight crop of this loco Ade........very well defined by it's sharpness. Colours are brilliant and of great contrast. I spot some noise in the top left quarter, but this may be reflection from the bioler door and doesn't detract IMO. Really great shot and good composition. Well done.

Nice composition Soul 21.lovely shot of the iron bracket lamp. I like the semidesaturated colour and the nasty weather forming in the background. Just too heavy on the USM.....the thick halos round the lamp, roof edges etc. are a giveaway. Keep shooting and try a bit less of the USM, and you'll be on the right track for sure. Good spot and well done. Regards.....Steve.

Great commentary Rui, and a nice shot of Palacio da Pena. I feel the composition would have had far more impact had you followed the ROT's....such as placing it over further to the right and opening up the hinterland to the left. It may have given more perspective too. It looks like you had difficult lighting to contend with, as the walls to the left of the building are slightly blown and lacking detail. Regardless, a lovely shot and thanks for sharing..........regards, Steve.

Hi Greg..........lovely image with good capture of the interesting sky. The pile of rocks are well positioned too, helps to balance things up. I like the reflections in the lake and although the horizon is almost central, this doesn't detract as the reflections and sky take my eye off the horizon. Good capture, well done. Regards.......Steve.

Hi Dave...an interesting thumb, and on clicking it, I think you have lost some detail due to OE. There is a large expanse of snow which may have fooled your meter. I would also prefer this in colour because there appear to be some nice textures in this old hut, but which can't be seen properly due to B/W rendition. As for composition, it would have been a better balanced image had the hut been on the ROT's as opposed to being more central. That's purely my opinion, and anyway, keep shooting and thanks for sharing. Regards....Steve.

Hi Sony..thanks for your detailed critique. Just to clear up a point you made about a faster shutter speed, the answer is 'no' the reflection would not have been clearer. The shimmering was caused by the movement of wind across the surface of the water. Regards, Steve.

Hi Larry........I'm not sure how to approach this with any conviction and constuctive cri. The lighting is somewhat bizarre and most likely flash, judging by the fall off. The subject is extremely difficult to pick out from the checker floor.....may be this was your intention. I also feel that the perspective is all wrong and may be better by changing your viewpoint. Not an easy image to critique, but thanks for posting. Regards.........Steve.
