This is Amazing!!! I wish I had been there to see this in real life and see the skill involved in collecting the water while not actually going in the water. You have captured an incredible moment - well done! Amanda

What amazing detail. I would go as far as saying it is the most detail I have seen in a macro yet!! Well Done. Amanda

Dedication is one word...crazy is another. LOL I knew the type of look I was after, so I had to do it. Now it is getting even colder, so I am glad I did it when I did. Thanks for your comment. Amanda

So that is what that church looks liek close up!!! I too have driven past it a million times and now I have seen it in true glory. The sepia toning is brilliant for this shot! Thanks Greg...it is amazing what you can find if you veer off the highway isn't it? You have me wanting to drive down all the beaten tracks I can find!! LOL

Steven I love this shot. My family and I went to NZ in November last year and went to the top of the Sky Tower....whoa, very freaky walking over the glass panels and looking down. Unfortuantely I hadn't done my photography course at that stage, so now having finished it, I would love to go back and do it all again... Amanda

I can assure you the water wasn't deep enough for them to be jumping off it. They were coughing up mud and everything as they walked out! This was also my first attempt at 'freezing' action, so I cannot express to you enough, how much I appreciate your comments. Please keep them coming, as it can only make me a better photographer. Thanks Kel, I'm glad you liked it...and I must admit I don't really like seeing myself either, but I thought I would do some experimenting to see what I came up with. I wasn't going to even put it on UF, but then I thought, how am I going to learn, if I don't put myself up for critisim...I need all the help I can get! Amanda

A big THANK YOU to you Steve for your in depth comment. As this is a first for me with this style, I really value your comment, especially about leaving the pupil black and the catchlight white. I have attached the original photo...uncropped and in colour. As you will notice I have yet to master a clear self portrait...but I am working on it! Thank you again!! Amanda

You do extremely well without macro...look out when you do get it!!!! It is great that you experiment and learn what your camera can do....if only I had more time to do that!!! Look forward to seeing more from you! Amanda

I don't know about that, but you are kind to say that. I only heard about that comp by fluke, so I was lucky I guess. Do you know of somewhere that tells you when there are photo comps on??? How do you find out about them all?
