I like the desaturated colors. Low clouds in the distance complete the scene nicely.

I just commented on Alastair's version of the same place.

Tried a compromise to include the bottom of waterfall. My crop pushes the boulder back into the middle but since it blends in with its surroundings maybe that's not a huge problem? I also think the waterfall behind it pulls the eye away from the rock some. My eyes follow the water to the source instead of resting on the boulder. Hope that makes sense. Beautiful autumn shot btw.

Hi Neil, That's an excellent shot you have there. Not the same beach, this is from US west coast. Thanks for your comment.

Igor, Note that this is already a B/W image, it's just that it's toned in blue. The histogram shows it to have plenty of shadows & highlights, so not sure what you are seeing there. This was a dark scene with the surfer in silhouette. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Mike, I am against the caging of animals also. I don't think the "modern" zoos are a cure for this problem either. The man-made habitats are too small. Thought provoking shot. Well done.

Hi Mike, I did not try it from higher up because even at that height it was splashing out of the glass. Thanks for looking at my portfolio and your thoughtful comment.

Excellent shot Giancarlo. B/W suites the image very well. Your main subject looks good isolated from the rest. The white area in the backgrond is leaning slightly to one side, which is something that was obviously there in the scene.. I rotated the image very slightly but still couldn't fix it. So I cloned just a little bit of plain grey to give the line a straighter look. Cropped tighter (not sure if it's better). Here it is.
Grazie for your comment on my picture. Sorry it took me ages to thank you.

Hi Kerim, Your landscapes are wonderful. This is an excellent shot. Did you have to use something other than a polarizer to get the sky looking like that?

10 for creativity & execution. It's like two pictures in one. The watercolor is very good too. Compliments to the artist. You could also try the easel in color but it's great this way as well.

Excellent image!

Beautiful color palette. The vignette is very subtle and just right. Is the frame from a plug-in?
