Lovely juxtaposition and a very interesting shot which may have benefitted from a slightly lower angle in order to reveal the apex of the pyramid.

Great use of DoF but I think you just missed the point of focus which appears sharper on the nose instead of the eye, something I have often been guilty of myself. This often happens if you use AF instead of MF. Nice capture though,

One of the best skyscapes I have ever seen, fantastic detail, great colours and contrasts and the shot just would not be the same without the boat in the foreground. I must stop looking through your portfolio, it's making me feel very jealous and quite inadequate! Well done a great shot!

This is an immensely powerful image that says it all. Expressing turmoil and chastity as well great underlying power! The elephant is easily powerful enough to break free from it's oppressors but does not and is shackled to a life of servitude. This not only applies to the elephant but to the continent of Africa which it represents. A fantastic piece with real meaning and a simple sincerity. Congratulations, I hope this wins the awrd it deserves!

I like the noise, the grain gives it a "lived in" feel which really portrays life. If anything, I think it would have benefitted from been a bit closer into the old man, bringing out his expression and features. Nice shot though.

Thanks for your crit, it's always interesting to hear what others think. I do have some similar images with a bit more contrast and some with the odd person ghosting past which I may post at some point, however I just liked the solitude this one portrayed, it was a wonderful and special moent having the entire bridge to myself which is exactly what I tried to put across here.

Cheers,

Pete

Hey, I've just uploaded a nightshot of a brdge too, different bridge though, are you copying me Lorraine? lol

I like this, I think the millenium bridge does make a wonderful subject too, I must take my camera with me next time I'm in Newcastle.

Nice capture
