Actually, I have the D300 set on Vivid setting, so really, I have to desaturate most images somewhat. As to how much, depends on what monitor/video card setting that you have going on. That sure is one problem with images on the net....the lack of visual consistency. Anyway you know how I like color no matter what....lol.

Hi Gary,
Yes we walked through the burn area which was pretty much most of the way except the last 1km. the images from that walk in the burned area were quite beautiful filled with fireweed and all sorts of reddish plants from the fall coloring.

The soft lighting works very well. And the off center composition adds to the the dynamic feel creating a overall interest to the eye.
Great job!

Hi Roger,
"Blueberries fruition expended" meaning that the berries have come and gone and now the bushes have turned deep red as in the image.
I was just tired of just giving the same old lines of explanation, so even if it doesn't make sense....I just had to do something different for a change.
Looking foreword to the new PS!

Hi Roger,
Not much choice here with the saturated colors...almost had to desaturated it .....lol....yeah it was totally amazing the warmth of the landscape.
As to the number of images, I think 7-8 images with 20-40% overlap, joined with the auto pano plugin that comes with in PS CS3.

Hi Roger,
Surprisingly there were very few mozzies at this time of the year....It was snowing at times. I think that they had their short season and were on the wain by this time.

haha.... there is enough toxin in one human to wipe out the entire planet......
The puffer fish composition is fantastic! love the warm out of focus coloration in the background giving your image such a sense of depth giving it 3D feel. would look awesome in a photo stereoscope.

Hi Peta,
I have to say that whenever i get the time to make it over to your portfolio i feel humbled by the awesome quality of your images. This portrait really gives expression to how I see you in part and I am amazed with how well this shot communicates at least one part of who you are to me.
you have the super skill to bring out that element in whatever you shoot and make a visual impact that stays with me long afterwords.

Hi Avi,
Ahhh, well i do usually do some PS work(cropping, levels and sharpening) but really this one is pretty much the way it came out of the camera. It is the difference between the raining and snowing area in the background and the sun exposed area in the foreground.
