This is really interesting. The photo has immediate impact - A strong sence of time and place. For peope who would rather be sailing I'm sure it will lift their hearts. For you, its just another shot of a sailboat in a pretty seascape. Proof that we must photograph for ourselves and not for others. I get the feeling you are somewhat stuck on this image, wanting to love it and not really knowing how because it isn't coming from your heart. Poor Kim. This is a great shot. Just move on to the next thing you love.

Take a bow for this one Bev. Works for me just as well with a bit less foreground.

Cogratulations Jim!

This mix of colour temps and graphics is certainly a memorable composition worthy of this award. As usual, Altaf has an eye for great talent.

It may be easier to tell from the pre-posted image about the sharpness. Both look similar to me. My preference between the two is this one. While the other looks more natural, this one has more feeling and what a great feeling it is. Pure magic. Who could not love winter, looking at this image? In adition to the exposure, I also like the framing and composition on this one better. Great photo Chrisitan. Really great!

Here is the original. With 33 views and just 3 comments, I take it that many people don't know what to make of this. The illumination for this photo is the rising sun. The blue and the orange are the natural tones of the light at that moment, intensified by Virtual Painter. The detail is still there in the sky on the left but is muted by similar colours. I ain't no Ansel Adams.

"Mon pays, ce n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver" - Gilles Vigneault

Ooops, I really did butcher that, didn't I? The flag is the provincial flag of Quebec, Canada.

I hope I didn't butcher that too badly. Merry Christmas Christian and best wishes for the new year.
