Stan, thanks for your comments. I'm busted. I took this photo into Photoshop and darkened it up quite a bit. You are right. It's just before sunset and still quite light. My camera is a point and shoot, so I have no real control over the shutter speed. I think I'll be posting a little macro soon. This camera seems to do a fine job with macros. Regards, Nancy

Paul, This little girl may be an actress in her adult life. I have never seen so many different expressions from a child this young. She is precious. Enjoy your time with her. Take lots of pics, Grandpa. Nancy

Guillermo. I love the way you captured the luminosity of the flower petal. That always reminded me of freshly fallen show glistening in the moonlight. This is quite beautiful. Thanks for the treat! Regards, Nancy

Paul, Thanks for your good comments. Patryk,I think, if I had worked a little more carefully, I could have made the picture more beautiful. Next time, I'll be a little more careful. I'm starting to live and breath photography and Photoshop.
Brad and Long, thanks for your kind comments. Nan

Paul, I remember playing under the bridge just before it opened, and I remember the rat hole cabin. Mom wouldn't drink the water out of that faucet. I love this spot and can only guess there are a million pictures just like this one. Thanks for your kind words.
Thanks Anwar and Natta for your kind words, too.

Bill, Thanks for the comment. I'm still pretty new at this and have a limited number of photos to play with in Photoshop. I see your point about having a foreground image. Here's what I did. I think it's better because of your comment. There seems to be more depth to the picture. Thanks loads. Nancy

James, I'm a big fan of extreme contrast of light and dark. I don't feel I have the expertise to rate your photo yet, but it certainly appeals to me.

Thank you, gentlemen, for your kind suggestions. I went back to my friend, Photoshop, and made a few changes. First of all, I used Filter/Unsharp Mask to sharpen the image as several commented the image was too soft. I think this helped. Thanks, Paul, for the pictoral example. Nice picture. I recropped the image to give it better balance. I have other pictures of this subject with an unobstructed view, but I like the play of very dark against light and the "cutting of the vertical plain by the leaves in the photo. This is just a personal preference. I tend toward a greater timber than the normal eye. I have posted my modified pic. Thank, again to all of you who commented.

Igor, Thank you for your comment. This was my first picture and I used a different formula to cut the file size. I followed up your comment by searching this site for instructions. I found them and will use them in the future. I will also change this picture.
I also like your work. Black and white works well to emphasize the subject without the interference of color.
