Yes, Richard, on this part of the coast there is an almost constant onshore wind. This is a great place to go when it is murderously hot in the valley.

"The eyes are a window to the soul," or something like that; and I believe it. In this little spark plug, a light seems to emanate from that one eye we see. You've captured his intensity and clear intent. And I would like to thank you for your heart-felt words in Sarah. You had not blown me off, and I appreciate that. I appreciate your empathy.

andy, this one is a beauty! i like your composition but would love to see more detail in the engine compartment. looks like the valve covers are etched with flames to match the bumper. bringing that out would add another dimension to this already wonderful photo.

take care,
tom

Richard, thanks for your comment. I'm not sure if they will be showing outdoor movies this summer. My favorite spot in the Tower District is the bar at the Daily Planet, which is in the building you mention.

A very powerful and interesting graphic. Do they still show outdoor movies on the side of a building on summer evenings in the Tower District?

Mark, this would have been better if the whole tail had been in the photo, but these little birds are very hard to capture because they flitter about so much. They are hardly still for more than a second. I just kept my fingers crossed and kept shooting--pretty tricky, when you think about it

I don't think the slower shutter speed's done anything to reduce it in any way. Even the DOF is good. It's quite a capture. I do wish you got the tip of her tail feathers, though. Overall, I do think it's excellent.
