great balance of shadows and highlights, well done. I don't think most people would understand how hard it is to pull this off. I bet you're glad you had the nd filter in the bag.

The flash was down close to the floor attached to a boom and then angled up. I was just messing around with dramatic lighting. Thanks for the comment.

wow... I'm surprised you've not received more provocative comments. I guess everyone is being polite. You not only achieved a wonderfully exposed image, you also have a very sensual and sexy portrait. Very well done. keep experimenting.

hi Brigitte. thanks for your kind comments. I've been on the road a lot and just haven't had the time to post or respond to any comments. I see you're out and about as usual. Always ending up some place cool. This image speaks volumes. I think the thing I like the most is you chose to leave people in the shot, that helps with reference to the true size of the tree. AS always, a beautiful shot.

Another wonderful photo of Opie. I hate to here what happened though, but I'm glad there was a happy ending. We do a lot of camping also, and the things we see on the trails and campsites drives me nuts. Lots of times we have to clean a campsite before we can camp. I was once a boy scout, back in the day, and learned early to leave a campsite in better condition than how you found it. I'll get off my soapbox now. I'm really glad to here he's doing OK.
