What a special image - the joy of the girls, the pretended indifference of the firemen, the frozen movement - the circumstances so unusual - well seen and taken, Rachel.

Superb - great composition, the sepia touch is very effective - I notice that you do most of your images in non-colour - any particular reason for that, Benedette? What does one call the process that you use to enhance your images so beautifully? Your work is exceptional!

Your photographs are amazing, Benedetto , unlike anything I've seen on Usefilm - this image is striking - a work of art, like the rest of your portfolio.

No, Geoff, I'm too much of a beginner-building-up-my-gear to use filters - not in my budget yet - have been enquiring about them, whenever I see a good photograph of sunsets or sunrises, but nobody seems to be using filters for taking those, they use polarizers though, it seems.

This composition has potential, IMHO, Geoff, pity the duck is too dark and the detail in the water top left is almost lost.

Ah, this is much better, here the reflected masts are not distracting at all - the colours are darker, and the reflection is interrupted, if you will, by the drifting seaweed - like the landscape view as well.

What a lovely image - stunning light - good composition, although I find the extended parallel lines of the masts somewhat distracting - well done for excellent exposure. Regards

What a special image - misty shots are difficult (IMO) and this one is superbly executed - that you have a passion for photography, is evident from your portfolio, John - well done on the award - thanks for commenting on my image - Regards

Nothing like a misty morning for great moody shots, and well done on this one, Larry - lovely with the dark silhouette right, clear against the misty-looking ones at the back, just enough still water left for the reflection in the foreground - a magic moment!

Well done for capturing this happy moment, Mehul - lovely tones and colours - the movement in the one tussel is a nice touch - a photograph to cherish! Thanks for commenting on my image.

I took more than 200 images that evening, Mehul - of which I approve of about three - thanks for the compliment regarding the recommendation... ;

Amazing clarity and shallow Dof - please explain to me how it is possible to have two focus areas in the same image - my instructor keeps on reminding me that any camera, no matter how good it is, can focus in one area only in a particular image. Here, there is a distinct focus area top left, and another on the blue flower next to the right wing (which is clearly not in focus, with excellent results). You don't mention the shutter speed - could it have been movement of the right wing? Striking image, with excellent colours and great composition - I envy you this stunning photograph, Mehmet!

Magic! You captured the essense of this little girl - her eyes and unpretentious expression are priceless. Pity the hands are cropped out. An image to cherish, nevertheless.

Stunning detail in the sihouettes! Somehow, the column of reflection down the centre of the image seems like over-kill - would have loved to see the image without that, otherwise just so well composed.

Ja, how many perfect shots do we lose due to the dear old focusing gremlin. Don't know whether Ignacio did this intentionally, but it bothers me too that there is no one clearly focused area in this image. Otherwise, it could clearly have been a winner - lovely colours too.

Gerhard, do you mean "paint by numbers"? I can't see any such structure on my side - it certainly did not appear on the original either. Thanks for commenting on my iamge! Regards

Goeie grysperd, maar dis pragtig! In good years, masses of these cosmos flowers line our roads, here in southern Natal, and every water colour painter (of whom we have many around here) have churned out stacks of cosmos paintings over the years. But this beats anything that I've had the honour to see - brilliant homage to this humble plant, Joggie.
