Thanks, Thilo...not having the easy portable and viewable digital SLR has me thinking of composition and framing and color choice. It has broadened my photographic sensibility. I will be consciously more thoughtful (at least for a spell) when it is back in my hands again.

Nice image. A bit hot with the light, but wonderful compositionally. Try a light modifier like a mini-softbox or mini-umbrella to shoot through.

Like the composition but do not understand the angle she is standing in. Great lighting.

that then explains the unique shape of the lights on the stairwell, Thilo. I like the river running through the image. Stairs leading down. How difficult would it be to ascend this same staircase? Great concept; tough lighting but great photo work.

Forgotten or perhaps not seen, but this is a deserving photograph with the very telling lighting. Excellent show of emotion on the face of the subject.

Wabisabi or not, Marion, it is wonderful with the jagged symmetry of the leaf and the expanding sphere around it in the rust with the contrasting colors. It is fun to look at.

agree with Paul...the lighting is wonderful and the clean background really makes her leap out in the TN. Seems a bit soft in focus, but that may have been intentional.

Comments are good, Judi. But the most recent posts have been awesome. This is inspirational as a closeup portrait. The red cloth framing the face. The crop and the burgundy fading background all wonderful.

bravo, Carmem. Nice imagery. The beautiful sky the rusty sand and the tiny people to help add some perspective. That perspective is figurative and literal. Figuratively, it gives us an idea of how important we are in the grand scheme of it all. Literally, we see how insignificant we really are but so essential still. Great lighting capture.

Judi, you captured such intensity here. There is a sense of determination in her face. The lighting is as usual characteristically glowing and flattering. Excellent work!

just looking at the TN was enough to complete the story. a pensive woman unaware of her surroundings. characteristically great focus and wonderful display of emotion captured in image.

Pawel. what a surprise that more of your visitors have chosen not to comment on this golden beauty. a glamor shot with slight soft focus on her face. main focal point seems to be on the seductively exposed shoulder. wonderful work.

a cute snapshot Thilo. subject is interesting. the flare from flash (maybe) is a tiny distraction. i think this might have been better from an angle and tighter on the bear. i love the car.

Here is a color-corrected version of the same image, Thilo. I liked the former because of the strange water color like color cast.

flat maybe and two dimensions for sure but very well exectuted. the combination of lines and contours is exciting. the textures are engrossing and lead the eye around the image.
