Nice action shot, you caught the dog perfectly!
The National Enquirer could run this under the headline "UFO Generates Force Field That Knocks Dog Down!"

Good shot, the suspicious man with the bicycle makes this one interesting. Good tones, too. Unfortunate that the flag blocks one person's head, but that's what happens with candid shots, right?

A beautiful, emotionally powerful shot, Philip. Ideally we would see her eyes more, but in that light, that's probably impossible. Good job dealing with darker skin tones in harsh light, which is difficult as you know!

Very good idea to use the window light, and a nice composition, amazing for a first B&W! You might want to work a little more with the tones, adding some contrast to make it more dramatic.

Well, Jeff, to me I guess the birds are an accent to the cloud reflections off the wet sand, so I would keep the sand even if the birds weren't there. But your version is fine too, just a matter of personal taste. Thanks for the suggestion!

The whole image is an interesting comment on material posessions and the people who accumulate them--very well seen.
It might also work well if you cropped the left side to make the image square.

Nice natural expression, Rebecca, and her eyes are properly in focus, so this works well! She does, though, seem a little squeezed into the frame, calling attention to her chin--could you have rotated the camera 90 degrees?

Bart, my Morocco pictures are slides from 1999 that I haven't scanned until now.
I think Morocco is one of the safest countries in the region for an American, though a more recent visitor could tell you better.

Thanks, Rutger, it was a candid shot. You're probably right that the metering was not optimal; this type of shot appears and disappears so quickly that one needs years of experience to make the right choice consistently in an instant. I'm still working on that!
