Thanks for commenting! You're right David, the framing is a bit too centered. Technically and compostitionally not the best of shots, but I do love her sweet face here

I'm only a very new member, so don't really know what the change is. However I've found in the week or so I've been here the comments have been invaluable. Especially by the likes of David Hoffman. I hope I am not seen as one of those 'new members' who are using the place to upload 'snapshots' as i have come here hoping to learn more about the craft of photography and have learnt SO much just looking through peoples portfolios and reading comments (not necessarily on my own photos either). I have made an effort to post a comment on any upload that catches my eye also. I wish I could have been here before so many of these valued photographers left. I would have loved to have had the chance to be inspired by them even moreso and to hear their thoughts. Hopefully I can find wherever they're hiding!

Thanks for reassuring me guys! The more I look at it the happier I am with it. I just needed some honest opinions from real photographers I think.
David you got their personalities spot on! The little one can be a clown at times but overall you were spot on!
Thanks again!

thanks so much for the input guys. I just felt that maybe there was too much colour in her skin tone, like it should have been a bit cooler or something, but you guys are the experts and know best
David, she is very adorable and I'm lucky to get lots of cuddles
I'll attatch my attepmts at xprocessing and converting to b + w incase anyone's interested. I quite like the way they turned out. Oh, and I flipped the lest photo in these too

Thanks for commenting!
David, nope she's not my daughter, I look after her while her parents work, she's like part of the family though. I'm lucky to have such a great subject. The only child-subject I really have access to so it's great for me that she's so photogenic!
And thanks for the comment on the backdrop, I'm quite happy with how that turned out too

Thanks a lot for your comments! David, yep, I did have to do a bit of selective blurring. The wisp of hair is giving it away the most, lol, driving me nuts! The original did have some blur but using the coolpix with a fixed lens has its limits, I'm hoping to get a digital SLR byt the end of this year

David, she may look like she's in deep thought but in reality she was just thinking about how soon her icecream was coming Her greenstone was a gift from her grandparents, they gave it to her while down for the weekend and had just left the day before the photo was taken, so I guess you could say they were 'gone' but not for ever.
