About: I've been an avid, if sporadic fan of photography since I was 9 years old. I started with a Brownie box camera using paper-backed 620 film, developing and printing (enlarging with a homemade enlarger) sitting cross-legged in my bedroom closet in front of 3 plastic trays of smelly chemicals. Mom was not thrilled, but she was awfully patient. I graduated to an Argus C3 35mm in High School, then after starting a photo club and building a darkroom there, moved on to college and Minolta SRT101. There I also started a photo club (and built another darkroom). Over the years expense became more critical than the joy, and my hobby drifted away. But this year I bought a Nikon CP4500 on a lark, figuring that over the long haul, the cost will be far lower than feeding my film habit, and the shutterbug has bitten me once again!
