About It is not too late for fall color is it? We just got in to full-swing autumn here, rain and wind bringing all the leaves down. It maybe a photographer's disease, but to me, the best thing about this shot is the fuzzy blob in the upper left :-)

Hi Stefan,

maybe it's a bit late as they are calling for snow the next days here =)

anyway, your macro study is awesome with the toning, the usage of DOF and the centered placement of the subject.

very appealing.

best wishes,
Thilo

excellent details and blurry!
also great tones.
i think the blob increases the diagonal comp and adds mistery to the image.
very well done stefan!

Beautiful light and dof here - really lovely warm atmosphere and also a promising autumn as the spring normally metaphhorical beeing seen as :))

The right sentiment for the season, Stefan? The ?fuzzy blob? could be, is, a perfect mirror reflection of the foreground leaf .

I agree, Stefan. The leaf-ghost really adds interest for me, too, the fuzzy blob opposing the strong wood diagonals below. The power and appeal of autumn leaves lies, I think, in the reminding of warm sunlight and gentle breezes of days past, and the transience of life, our leafimages like a Western expression of Chinese cherry-blossom paintings. The leaves are finally all grounded here, and we're expecting our first Wisconsin snow today. Winter's knocking hard!
