Nice picture. The shadow gives crab balance in the photo. It does make me stop and think is it a crab or scorpion.

I think it must be a crab. I love the shadow...The look on it's face looks like he may asking himself the same question about you...A human or what....Or maybe what does that human have in front of his face? LOL.... I also love the compositon of this picture and the lighting makes him look transparent. Cool picture Maarten!

Chelsey, I apologise. The question was meant to come from the crab looking at its own shadow which resembles that of a scorpion. Thank you for commenting on this picture.

It's a crab. Another stop down (up?) on the exposure to make it a tad darker may help bring up the contrast and show more detail, though it's a tough call when this subject is in such bright sunlight on a reflective surface like sand. I really like the composition on this one.
