About The bridge across the moat at the castle in all the recent shots - Sandal Castle.

I was leaving - pretty much packed and ready to go when I saw the railings glimmering in the light.

Bein a sucker for lines in shots, I knelt down to find the brightest "glimmer"

Put the manfrotto on the lowest setting, got a 15mm lens out and took a few shots. This one's the fastest shot - took 10 seconds, the other were 15 and 30, they started to butn the light in the background out. Oh - that's Wakefield if you're wondering.

One of my fave perspective shots.

I can see why you like this perspective. Very effective and excellent lighting. I like how the eye gets lead out to the warm glow of dusk. Well done Ade!

Hi Ann,

with moon shots you need to be a lot quicker than you'd think. Try about 1/60th second or so.

The problem is that it moves in the shot so you loose the detail and it's also a LOT brighter than its suroundings - though you can usually get a nice halo around it on a foggy night.

I don't know whether you ever use Manual exposure, or even exposure lock, but I tend to pinmmg my light meter (in the camera) at the brightest part on the scene and set the exposure to about +1 1/3 to 1+ 2/3. that way th bright bit does not overexpose. The rest of the scene may be dark, but you can either use Photoshop to get over that or buy some Grad Filters.

Excellent perspective and composition. I love your technique with the long exposures. Still can't understand why the lights don't burn out for you. Would that work with those orange rising full moon shots do you think? Beautfiul colours in the sky and the distant lighting in the town is wonderful. Stunning image. Cheers - Ann :)

Perfect shot. I tried to get a shot like this but of course I had no clue and the foreground was blurred. This is a masterful image. Into my favs.

Great shot ADE but I wish you wouldn't post three pics when I have been to the pub. I love the lead in that is taking us to wakefield and a great sky.

You blended an abstract perspective and a city sunset perfectly. This is already a great sunset, but the addition of lines is magnificent. The city itself looks like the sun below the horizon. Thank you for sharing; this was an amazing photo, 7+
