What a VERY interesting question that is.... I have NO idea why they have the red, white and blue flags flying?? Was at the Annual Chianti Wine Festival but even THAT doesn't make sense... Have to confess that I we had not even noticed that Gyorgy... too busy absorbing the wonderful ambiance :) :)

Lovely, atmospheric evening pic of the village square. Very Italian, except for the flags which seem to be French. Why? By the way, I am also an S2 owner and I love it! Salute: György

hi Shirley...forgot to mention something about your Canon S2..that maybe I missed in these so called Expert Camera Review Columns.... Have you shot video with it? Aside from the fact that you need a bit of memory (or something to transfer to) it's more than a remarkable "camcordia" try this if you haven't already...record an action event (anything with lots of motion) PLUG Canon into the largest TV you have (not your computer) press play and not only see that most vivid pictures BUT YOU CAN SLOW THEM TO A CRAWL...AND GET THIS ...WITHOUT ANY LOSS IN PICTURE QUALITY... Guys...go do that with your Digital SLR (hey I have a Nikon D50 and love it...but for under $500 bucks this Canon PowerShot S2 is an 'all-around' winner.
cheers

Thank you for your comment Piero - yes, there is noise in the sky and a good point about the left rotation. Loved the ambiance of the place!! Ciao
