Hi Gabriela, I'm glad you like this one. I have more leaf pictures coming before the winter sets in. It's still bright here with all the colors, but getting darker every day.

Wow, that's a nice one, the L series! Seen a lot of great reviews on it. Congrats! Sorry, I forgot the daylight savings time :)

Thanks dear Ina, you seem to have the same problem then. I just got my first "proper" lens, the 70-200 L, seems to be much better than the plastic ones. Never had any such problem with FD lenses in the past. Endre (its just 0.38 now :-) )

Hi Endre, incomplete answer: my Tamron 70-300mm is a cheap lens, good in bright light, sometimes sharp, but not nearly what I'd want from a lens. In low light it hunts for focus, etc. If I'd start all over again, I'd get a real macro 1:1 fixed focal length.

Hi Endre, it must be after 1 a.m. over there! I see you have an XT - I find the best lenses of course, are the fixed focal length, not the zooms. I'd love to get a 100mm Canon macro or a Tamron 90mm. For this type of photography they are the sharpest. Also, the 50mm Canon lens is one of the sharpest available, great for portraits. I base my purchases on the ratings from www.fredmiranda.com and www.DPReview.com - and find that feedback excellent. Regards, Ina

Thanks for coming back, Ina. So, are you happy with this lens in respect of sharpness? Ever since switching to digital I feel my images just too soft, as if out of focus. Regards, Endre

Hi Endre, sorry I didn't get to answer your question about sharpness. I always put my pics through Photoshop. Nothing goes out without adjustments, althoigh here, I somehow missed that huge white spot, no idea how it happened, but it should have been cloned out. I usually run low USM a number of times to get it as sharp as possible without destroying the JPEG. I pick the pictures that seem to be sharp from the camera, because if they're not fairly sharp to begin with, there's nothing that will make them sharper. I've taken these handheld, and focussed on the leaves, not the branches, which are a bit out of focus. Thanks for asking, Ina

Thanks Neal for your comments, and for confirming the colors on your you new monitor. I use an old VGA monitor for photo processing, I find it's crisper than my other (newer) LCD monitor.

Buetiful reds and great sharpness. Wonder if this is just out of camera or did you use much PS afterwork to get this clarity and sharpness. My best, Endre

Beautiful shot. I see rich bright orange. I just bought a new monitor and it's vastly more intense and saturated than my old one. I'd guess these pictures look different to each one of us because of different monitor calibrations.

This is superb! I like the counter light, the faded green in the background, the veins of the leaves, everything speaks here about nature. Grat: Gyuri

What gorgeous orange tones, Ina! And great detail in the leaves! The dof makes the leaves stand out very sharply! Well done! Kathy Just read your comment to Ann. On my monitor the leaves are definitly orange, not red, and the background color is peach.

Ina I use a laptop so it depends on where I have my monitor as it moves cosntantly depending on who has used the laptop lat. On my screen it shows as rich reds but when I move the screen more towards me it shows more deep orange tones. I expect this variation will happen from time to time as different monitors will show variations of colour depth. I know sometimes I get comments that an image is washed out looking and then someone else will post that the same image is saturated with colour. I wouldn't adjust your monitor as no matter what you do you will sometimes get varying reports on colours. Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks Ann :) While I have you here, you and Ozjan mentioned 'red' on my picture. My monitor shows dark orange and peach colors. I wonder if I need to adjust it? Do you actually see these leaves red? Thanks, Ina

Wonderful image Ina. It has all sorts of interest with its rich red colours, interesting contrasts, varied depths of field, fluid lines and curves and not to be forgotten are the fun shadows and great detail in the leaves showing the veins. Very nice image and very well captured Ina. Great job.
Thanks also for your comment on my Rocky Window image from Death Valley. To answer your question - Yes it is Golden Canyon. I too love it there. I used to live quite colse to there so have had many visits there. Would you believe my Bug on a Lilly Pad photo that I posted was photographed there. The lilly pond was at Furnace Creek Hotel. Who would have thought that? Cheers - Ann :)
