Hi Eleisa, Jim asked me the same question. The leaves were against the dark bark of the maple tree. So I had the dark tree in the background, and I just darkened it more by selecting the color.

This is very beautiful Ina. How were you able to get the great lighting on the leaves with such a dark backgroud?
Great colors.

Thanks Aram, if I were a botanist, probably I could name a few diseases, as you said, reality is dominated by imperfections! And life is followed by decay. How true! I want to finish the leaves, and get back to my regular industrial stuff, but... they happened!

Very nice composition of colors, lights and shapes. Very human: individual beauty along with particular irregularities and defects. The most great lesson of the Nature to the Man is that after all His effort to model the perfection and order, it has to be admitted that the reality is dominated by the imperfections and irreglarities (if not Chaos!).

I especially love the light that seems streaming on the border of the leaves and branches and falling in drops...

Lovely!

Great detail and captivating colours. Nice arrangement. Like that you left the bleamishes on the leaves adds character.

Hi Jim, the background was very dark to begin with, the leaves were against the dark bark of the maple tree. So I had the dark tree in the background, and I just darkened it more by selecting the color. I didn't have to lasso the leaves. It was actually easy.
