Awesome photograph Pierre!!!! I mean really awesome! This shots is nature frozen in time. An excellent capture that could easily be used for a magazine cover. Hats off to you for this one! Oh, and nice catch light in the eyes. Without it, the bird would have flattened out and the shot wouldn't have been so dramatic.

Hi Darlene,
You're quite right... These little guys don't stay at the same spot for very long at all. They're constantly flying around... and fast! Sometimes they'd get too close to me and I couldn't get a focus. It was an overcast day, so I had to shoot at full aperture, which caused a very narrow DOF. Thanks for commenting!

Beautiful composition and colors Pierre! I have tried and tried to get a good shot of these little guys and have not succeeded but your image is perfect! You captured his wonderful personality and I know he was probably getting ready to speed away! They are so hyper, very well done!
