The Muswellbrook Photographic Awards..It's open to all Aussie residents, and yeah I have work in, but so does the rest of the country :(...A few people on here, like Roger Skinner and and a couple of others, do to.I only enter the big comps now, as I find it more of a challenge, and get more from it...helps you to remember the standard that your work should be at. Anyway, thanks for replying...chat soon

Trace,

Your shutter speed was set at 1/60th or less acording to the blur, because 1/125, or faster would have frozen the motion...

Also I don't think you camera meter is working properly, because this capture is blown out quite a bit by the Sun.... Your f/8 setting seems to be perfect for this shot, but your camera meter should have adjusted the shutter speed to 1/125, or 250. Once again that fast of a shutter speed would have frozen the movement in this photo...

After all of that, lol, it could be 1 more thing... You didn't check the settings? Which I'm sure isn't the case, but I do it sometimes as well, since I always shoot using manual mode...

Hope you don't mind my usual playing about, but here is my take on the wonderful capture.

Well done my friend,

Marty

PS. All of the above data is nothing without the ISO setting... I just thought it was ISO 100, but if it was set at 200, or 400, the data still points to your camera meter...

I like this the best of the shearing shots, Tracey! I think it's because it is cropped in closer. You achieved really good tones on this one. Way to go!
Thanks for your comment on Against a Blue Sky. The crop on that one was out of camera. I didn't work with the colors in PS however.
