There are a couple factors here that make for a sharp photo. Yes the lens is definitely one factor. It's an older Nikkor AF 75-210mm 1:4-5.6. It's not the "D" version as I did not need the flash distance info and it's harder to find used. It's from 1993. The most important factors were time of day (early morning light from the side) and tripod with cable release. I just waited till the Monarch was fairly still and snapped away! Thanks,
