and yet so far. He didn't get across the line and at that point they were 2 trys down. They came back to win 34-10 though so it wasn't all bad. Really enjoying my rugby right now and I guess it shows in my portfolio. No apologies for the number of sports shots in there though, there's a definite lack of mainstream sport at Usefilm so I'll do my bit!
I am loving it right now. It helps that after a slow start they're cruising now, and it's always easier to shoot a winning team. I was using a 70-300 G lens last year but it was too slow and the images even when I had the light weren't as sharp as I'd have liked. I don't have the cash for a 300mm 2.8 so for now I'm strolling the sidelines with my 80-200mm. I find I get my best stuff from the side now. When I started I just stood behind the tryline and of course if they have a bad game you get nothing. I missed a really over the top diving try yesterday because I was halfway down the pitch and he ran from 70m all the way jinking and sidestepping all the way. Fantastic try... I got the sequence which was good and the back of him as he dived over the line! Going to have to save up for more reach. I did cricket all over the Summer. I'd love to try non-traditional sports... there are a lot of good bike & skateboarding shots on Usefilm, but there don't seem to be that many events around my area. Enjoy the boxing.... Wouldn't mind a go at that myself one of these days (shooting, not taking padded fists to my face).
Nice one Bruce. Keep them coming. I did Rugby yesterday and I got a pile of carp.I changed from my normal 300 to a 200 lens.I'm pleased your enjoying your sport. Until 2or 3 years ago all I did was sport-any sport. I think i am doing boxing net Friday. Depends whether my lensis back from the repairer.
