Janet - Thank you for your kind words RE a recent post of mine. The "peer-reviewed" "batting practice" and "taste testing" that UF offers (feedback pro and con) is so cool. Thankfully your comment reminded me to comment on this image that, because of its uniqueness, I intended to when you posted it. Unfortunately, I got distracted and then forgot.
I really like the originality of this sharp, striking, and well composed shot. Everyone has seen impressive shots of fireworks alone in the sky, over water, or above famous landmarks. But I don't ever recall seeing one like this with a "front yard obstruction" intentionally composed into the shot. I think this is a clever shot and a good lesson to me.

I think the combination does work, as the fireworks, very beautiful ones, seem to be errupting from the black box on the electic wire, making the whole photo a great unit. The fact that the pole is on one side and not in the middle of the photo also makes the composition work. Thank you, Dear Janet, for your very generous comments on my "Enter" and especially "Sunrise over Aqaba." I'll write to you soon. Best regards, Rafi

Beautiful fireworks capture! Unfortunately the pole was in your way. But the fireworks are amazing. I like this shot.

Bah, bugger the pole, it's a reality and doesn't blother me at all in light of how you've captured the fireworks! Perfectamundo long exposure, snapped at the just the right moment. I love it!

I can relate well, Lynne...unforturnately this is facing west! So this is how the sunsets look as well. Lots of trees, too!

I can relate to this, we have high wires that block our view of the sunset. Those fireworks are perfect, great capture!

I think it's a great capture and title. Funny. A perspective many people can relate to. The urban setting.

Janet, Beautiful shot. The fireworks are so clean and clear. Fantastic long exposure. Unfortunately I agree with you...I think the pole is more distracting than complimentive in this case. I guess if you have a good couple of hours you could PS it out. Not a task I would want!! :) Still a great capture! Regards, Damion
