Aram, this is a very creative interpretation! In the true sense of Gothic (if you read Anthony's comments) the Gothic window tracery was inspired by these tree branches and plant forms. But yours is a quite novel and surprising interpretation, I'm amazed! Thanks, Ina

Excellent and exceptionally beautiful and subtle mixture of colour, shape, light... amd humor!! To me it is a boat transporting trees on a river of brick... A deep poem! That's another example of your "beauty extractor" talent: how can a poor sheet of plexy contribute to the artistic creation!...

Loads of bravo!

I do like all styles, but Gothic Art is not my favorite. I find it rather "cold." I wouldn't go photographing stained glass windows, for example, no matter how gorgeous they are. I appreciate their beauty, but for example, I love Byzantine architecture more - mosaics, etc.

You don't like Gothic?? Whaaaa??? I'm agog - I thought you'd dig all that curvilinear/organic art.

Ant <<< has a little fit, dances around, falls over, looks at Ina suspiciously...

At any rate, you musn't permit "political" considerations to influence your appreciation of art...or is art "political"? ;-)

Regarding your "4 am" problem with uploads: yah, you are gonna have to quit posting for a day to set the, um, biorhythm aright!

It's beautiful! I'm not crazy about Gothic, though. The ones I'm photographing are 1) not as old; and 2) not as complex. We live in a former colony, he-he. But I'm discovering more and more brick and terracotta details. I'll post an interesting miniature gargoyle tonight, or tomorrow :) My posting limit seems to be edging forward toward 4 AM.

...except that window pre-dates Art Nouveau by about 650 years haha :) Here's another window (C14th) from York Minster's West Front: it's known as the "Tree of Jesse" Ant.

Weird, Ant. Today I got your second message - the one with the picture. A day later. Thanks. I like Art Nouveau tracery too :)

Thus, an "English Decorated" window from the West front of York Minster, (Cathedral) Yorkshire England:

haha - you hit it right on the snout Ina - THIS is what inspired the mediaeval masons of the "English Decorated" period to do their window tracery.

Not only you like architecture, but you're also able to prove it, which makes me really nervous - - not. Just kidding! I am looking at the screen with a big smile on my face :))))) Thanks! Ina

You like Architecture I know Ina! Here we have a Victorian brick Gothick lancet window (haha - yah OK) protected externally by ugly perspex. INSIDE will look fine, but one might never go inside...AND you have made it the more "authentick" by including a reflection of tree limbs and colour (amplifying the stained glass) to the point at which this image almost becomes genuine "English Decorated" period, circa 1280-1380, after organic influences. This defines Gothic architecture - organic, high vaulting suggesting a canopy of trees, fantastic carved-stone bits of nature as detailing. Yeah I like Architecture Ina.

Wow! This is nice multilayered vision with fantastic diagonal composition. Very stirring all details. Love the green tree, nice reflection on the window, beautiful bricks pattern. So this is excellent abstract vision with many, many nice details. Very well done dear Ina! 10/10!!! :)
My best regards!
Robert

Thanks, Kathy :) I think the reflection is of another tree across the street, not this one. It almost looks photoshopped, I didn't realize when I took the pictures it would look so wild. I found this street full of old brick buildings: an old church, an old library, and plenty of tree shadows. So that's my next series.

Now, what an interesting effect THAT creates, Ina! Once again, really good angle! You sure do have a good eye!
